Some EA Sports Severs Shutting

Did you load up your favorite EA Sports game recently, hoping to go online and jump into a game, only to find that the server was gone? As it turns out, Electronic Arts has shut down, or has plans to shut down, the online servers for 12 games during the next couple months.

Slated to close this month are the servers for FIFA Soccer 2005, EA Sports Fight Night Round 2, NCAA March Madness 2005, NBA Live 2005, NBA Street V3, NCAA Football 2005 (PS2), Need for Speed Underground 2, NHL 2005, Total Club Manager 06 (PS2), Tiger Woods PGA Tour 2005, and UEFA Champions League 2004-2005.

Scheduled to shut down by October 1st are the servers for Madden NFL 2005 and NFL Street 2.

These shut-downs only affect the ability to play against other players online and to download roster updates. You'll still be able to play any of these games' offline modes, such as quick play and dynasty, as normal.
