PS2 News: Sega Genesis Collection Coming

Sega Genesis Collection Coming

Retro compilations are all the rage these days, so it's not surprising that Sega, a company with a hugely popular catalog of older games is releasing a compilation. Sega today announced that Backbone Entertainment is developing Sega Genesis Collection, which will be released this fall for both the PlayStation 2 and the PSP.

"The Genesis was the first 16-bit gaming system released in 1989, setting a new standard for gaming hardware technology for years to come," said Scott A. Steinberg of Sega. "Sega Genesis Collection will take gamers back to experience the golden age of gaming during the 1990s."

Sega Genesis Collection will include over 30 titles like Sonic the Hedgehog, Phantasy Star, Altered Beast,Shinobi III, and Golden Axe. In addition to accurate recreations of the Genesis classics, interviews with the original developers, hints, and a museum will be included. The PSP version will allow you to play wirelessly with another PSP owner.
