Aren't You Playing Disgaea 2 Yet?
Though La Pucelle Tactics, Phantom Brave, and Makai Kingdom have all met with less success in the US than the original Nippon Ichi release, Disgaea 2 should be able to live up to its predecessor.
The formula hasn't changed much, or at all, really. Minor upgrades abound, but there wasn't anything that needed to be touched up in the first place. What matters are the memorable characters and outlandish humor that made Disgaea so intriguing (these elements were somewhat lacking in the other Nipoon Ichi games, at least in comparison). The Dark Court/Dark Congress system has been expanded. Now you're rewarded for being as absolutely evil as possible. In a clasically Disgaea turn of events, though, you can be called to the court and found innocent, which actually hurts you're standing!
With plenty of Geopanels to explode, an infinite Item World to explore, and more Prinnies than you can shake a stick at, Disgaea 2 is even more replayable than the first. Go pick up your copy, d00d!
