Rayman not just for Wii

One of the more popular names in platforming will find a home on multiple consoles this year, despite early hints it might be exclusive to the Nintendo Wii.

Rayman Raving Rabbids has garnered some attention from critics thanks to a Wii showing at the 2006 Games Convention in Leipzig, Germany a few weeks ago. The family-friendly franchise will remain quirky and charming, as the player will have to use a healthy supply of carrot juice to dispatch the pesky "rabbids" (which appear as cute wittle bunny wabbits). The collection of minigames even includes some dancing, ala the rhythm/dance genre. Developed by the acclaimed France-based Montpelier studio, Ubisoft and Co. are primed to make the limb-less wonder's fourth adventure a memorable one.

Thankfully, it seems that Ubisoft will now likely have a simultaneous release for the Wii, PS2, PC, DS, and GBA later this year, so Nintendo can't hog all the loony fun. And while it's not entirely out of the realm of possibility, they apparently have no designs to port the game to either the PS3 or Xbox 360.
