New information released on Extermination.
Sony recently shed light on its upcoming PlayStation 2 action title, Extermination. Evidently, the gameplay is akin to traditional survival horror, featuring three main characters -- all sent to investigate a mysterious communications failure at a secluded military facility.
Cindy Chen, one of the title's main characters, has been living in grief since her boyfriend was killed in duty for the US Marines. The disconsolate woman blames another main character, Dennis Riley, for his death, because the incident occurred when Andrew was covering Dennis on a secretive mission. The final lead character, Roger Grigman, came from a dirt-poor beginning to join the US Marines in hopes of giving something back to his country (apparently, to thank the nation that left him shackled in poverty). Stricken with guilt, Roger ponders if Andrew would still be alive had his actions been different, or had he been covering Dennis instead. In a plot twist, it's eventually revealed that Dennis was in love with Cindy when she was involved with Andrew, but Andrew's death prevented him from expressing his feelings for her. In another strange twist, it's confirmed that Dennis did indeed shoot J.R.
