Analyst: No Bully Sequel

One of the best PS2 games in 2006 was an ultra-controversial game from Rockstar, and its name wasn't Grand Theft Auto. It got a ton of attention for the now-infamous gay cut-scene, and Jack Thompson had the game firmly fixed in his sights for the last few months of the year. And despite it all, Bully managed to land several GoY nominations from numerous publications (including PSXE; stay tuned).

But one analyst has a disappointing prediction for fans of Jimmy Hopkins' crazy school activities: Wedbush Morgan Securities' Michael Pachter says we shouldn't expect a sequel. Referencing the weaker-than-expected sales for the title, Pachter simply told, "I would NOT expect a sequel (to Bully)."

He expects the game to generate about $24 million worth of revenue, and the three-year development time cost about $15 million. If you toss in other expenses accrued throughout the process, Pachter thinks Rockstar will barely break even. Of course, it's just a prediction for now; there has been no official announcement from Rockstar concerning the future of Bully. We don't even have all the sales numbers.

So maybe if it can stay in the limelight for a while, it can create some more revenue, and Rockstar may attempt a sequel. We can always hope, right?
