Another Musou Tops Half-Million Mark In Japan

Pictured here is one Musou; Gundam Musou for the PS3. And apparently, the Japanese really love their Musous. Okay, we'll stop saying "Musou" now.

If Koei is looking to break the record for the number of off-shoots, expansions, and sequels in a franchise, they're well on their way to achieving that goal. But then again, why the hell not? Japan clearly loves the Musou/Dynasty Warriors titles, and the latest, Musou Orochi, has surpassed the half-million mark in the country. The game released on March 21 for the PS2, so the rapid sales are quite impressive.

Of course, the game boasts very similar gameplay to any DW game, but Orochi seeks to combine the popular franchise with the less-heralded Samurai Warriors series. ...obviously, this concept translates to pure bliss from the Japanese gamer's standpoint. And Koei isn't giving up hope on U.S. and European gamers, either; they intend to bring Musou Orochi to those regions some time soon.

Well, maybe some day we'll understand the fascination. Maybe.

Yep, I can't wait!
I'll get it, but not until later.
I'll have to wait for the reviews.
This just isn't my cup of tea.
