La Femme Nikita PS2-bound.

PSX Extreme has recently learned that Infogrames Entertainment has secured the rights to the popular La Femme Nikita brand name. The developer will lend its able hand to the development of upcoming titles based on the franchise for the PC and next-generation consoles.

The title is currently in development at Infogrames' Lyon House Studio. Based on the popular television series, gamers will assume the role of one of two main characters: Nikita, the infamous spy/assassin, or Michael, Nikita's mentor. The six missions offered in the upcoming game are to be largely nonlinear. Infogrames will endeavor to produce a title featuring suspenseful adventure, action, cooperative gameplay, and a riveting storyline that deals with international terrorism.

Infogrames also has plans to support La Femme Nikita with a complete advertising campaign. The campaign will include print and broadcast advertising, national consumer productions and full web support.
