Twin Galaxies to document stellar gaming feats.

Entering its twentieth year of existence, Twin Galaxies, a firm well known for ranking the world's best videogame players, recently confirmed plans to release a monstrous compilation of its findings in a 1200-page volume of videogaming records and feats. Twin Galaxies has dubbed the text the "Official Video Game & Pinball Book Of World Records."

While the company's research teams are far-reaching for the project, Twin Galaxies is encouraging gamers to contribute information to the volume as well. "This 1,200-page book has set aside a considerable amount of space to honor hundreds of top players with photographs and biographies of their careers," commented Walter Day, Chief Scorekeeper for Twin Galaxies. "And, though Twin Galaxies has been the official scorekeeper and referee for the electronic gaming industry for 20 years now, it is very possible that there are many superstars who may have been overlooked, so we invite the public to come to our web site at and nominate these highly talented players for inclusion in the book."

An incredibly ambitious undertaking, the book will document, when completed, over 18 years of videogaming competitions and world records. Tournaments and competitions covered in the comprehensive log are exceedingly varied, and range from the 1982 Tron World Championships to the frenzied and highly competitive ladders of modern first person shooters, such as Quake III, Half-Life, and Unreal Tournament. Despite the heavy focus on online competition, the volume has also expanded from its original concept: lonely misanthropes sparring on consoles will also receive attention from Twin Galaxies.

"Not only will the greatest stars be honored," continues Day, "but thousands of other avid gamers will be crowned champions, too, based on their high-score submissions or the results of head-to-head competition. Since the publication of the first edition of the industry's official scorebook, thousands of world records have been broken. Twin Galaxies plans to document each individual achievement, and ceremoniously crown each game's champion. A searchable database of current record scores and champions can be viewed now at the Twin Galaxies official Electronic Games Scoreboard at

To obtain further information concerning the publication of TG's book, or to nominate a local star for recognition in the volume, gamers can contact Walter Day at He can also be reached via telephone by calling 641-472-3882, Ext. 107.
