Details surface on Quake III Revolution.

Quake III, perhaps one of the only titles to engender envy in the hearts of PlayStation 2 owners, has remained a largely mysterious project on Sony's next-generation platform. However, EA recently shattered the silence by officially confirming the title for the PlayStation 2. Q3 is being developed by Bullfrog Productions under the supervision of id Software.

"EA is thrilled to enter the arena of first-person action games with a franchise as strong as Quake III. Q3 and PlayStation 2 are the perfect combination to create the ultimate first-person action game on a console."

While the chief allure of the title will incontestably be its online capabilities, a four-player split screen mode has also been confirmed. A new single player experience is also to be featured in Q3.
