Sonic Unleashed Details Discovered

As most of you know by now, Sega is preparing another installment in the long-running Sonic series; Sonic Unleashed. If there's one franchise that's in desperate need of a quality resurrection, it's this one, and we're pinning high hopes onto this new effort.

Now, it seems we have early details concerning the game, as posted at the GameCenterOnline forums. Bear in mind that none of the following has been confirmed by Sega, but we'd like to think it's relatively accurate. First of all, the notorious Dr. Eggman somehow screws up the power of his Chaos Emeralds and infects Sonic with a new kind of power. Immediately after, the evil doctor appears to break the world apart into pieces, and it's up to Sonic to retrieve those pieces. It's a race against time, and Sonic's new powers are pretty damn cool (or so we hear). We have heard that both night and day will play significant roles in this game, and as it turns out, a whole new adventure greets Sonic when the sun sets. Plus...when it gets dark, Sonic gets nasty: he'll turn into a "werehog," complete with freaky claws and fangs! This is a slower yet more powerful version of Sonic, so take full advantage.

We hope to see these details confirmed by Sega very soon, and we certainly like this new idea. It might just be the overhaul this series needs...
