Onimusha selling like hotcakes.

Capcom announced yesterday that it has shipped in excess of 860,000 copies of the company's hyped samurai action title Onimusha in Japan. The colossal number dwarfs the previous record holder, Namco's Ridge Racer V, which has shipped 780,000 copies to Japan. Sony representatives have gleefully boasted that Onimusha is on track to becoming the inaugural PlayStation 2 title to eclipse the 1 million mark. Onimusha is scheduled to drop in North America on March 15. Capcom has not yet cited a European release date.
