Voice Of Solid Snake Writing MGS Movie Screenplay?
To make a good movie, you need a good staff. That much is undeniable. Perhaps one of the reasons we haven't had many (if any) good game-to-movie adaptations is because nobody ever bothered to hire the necessary people.
Well, when it comes to something like the "Metal Gear Solid" movie, it's basically essential that we get guys like Hideo Kojima involved. And he is, in the role of story writer and producer, and that makes MGS fans the world over hopeful. But there's something else, as evidenced by this IMDb listing: David Hayter, the long-time voice of Solid Snake, is listed as the screenplay writer. Earlier, we had heard a rumor that Christan Bale might sign on to play Snake, but most fans only identify Snake with Hayter, right? He's not a big-name actor, and his voice wouldn't be involved as a writer, but at least he's there. He has been a fixture in the series and he probably deserves a position working on the feature film, which is directed by Kurt Wimmer, by the way.
The IMDb says we can expect the movie some time next year, and with Kojima, Wimmer and the newly found Hayter, there is a decent possibility that "Metal Gear Solid" might actually be something worth seeing.
