PS2 News: Guitar Hero: World Tour Deluxe Version Detailed, Priced

Guitar Hero: World Tour Deluxe Version Detailed, Priced

Over the past few years, the question has lingered: does the high price of music-based games like Guitar Hero hinder sales? The excellent sales of each title has answered that question beyond any shadow of a doubt, but now the question is: are the fans willing to shell out even more for a special "Deluxe Version?"

According to GameSpot, RedOctane has priced a special Guitar Hero: World Tour Deluxe bundle set: the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 versions will retail for $239.99 while the PS2 and Wii versions will be slightly less costly at $219.99. What do you get with this mammoth package? The game, a USB microphone, a five-pad drum kit complete with kick pedal, two drumsticks, guitar and drum wireless receivers, a Guitar Hero: World Tour guitar faceplate, a guitar strap, a sticker pack, a dual recharge kit and dual "gig bag," and a freakin' t-shirt and keychain. 'whew' Now that's a Deluxe Version! Now, if you're wondering how this is different from the regular version - priced at $189.99 - it seems the extra $50 should be well spent if you want to go Deluxe. The standard version only includes the game, faceplate, drum kit, microphone, and guitar. The extra goodies listed above only come with the special, more expensive package, and it could be worth it for hardcore fans of the franchise. The deluxe bundle will release on October 26.

But if either of the aforementioned options are still too pricey, you do have another choice: Activision will release a guitar-only Guitar Hero: World Tour bundle for the PS3, 360 and Wii for $109.99 while the PS2 version will retail for $99.99. Well, the holidays are all about spending the cash, right? And there are lots of GH fans out there. Like, millions.
