PSXE Best Of The Best Poll Update: Gran Turismo 4 Pulls Away
The unstoppable driving simulation proves its supremacy for a second straight week, as Gran Turismo 4 is clearly the reader's choice for Best PS2 Sports/Racing game.
While GT3 established the franchise in a new generation, GT4 built upon the already excellent foundation and Polyphony added better graphics, physics, and depth. It's no surprise that so many readers voted for the game, despite some stiff competition from the likes of Burnout Revenge and Midnight Club 3: DUB Edition, because GT is always so unbelievably polished. Sure, arcade-style racing titles can be fun, of course, but nothing was quite so engrossing as the authenticity of GT4. We're a little surprised that other sports games didn't factor into the final voting, but at the same time, we knew GT4 would emerge victorious. Here are the final results for the category:
Gold Medal: Gran Turismo 4
Silver Medal: Burnout Revenge
Bronze Medal: Midnight Club 3: DUB Edition
It may have been obscenely difficult to nab Gold medals in those License tests, but this Gold was a breeze. It's now time to crown the single best PS2 game of the generation, as we're going to take the winners of all the previous categories and toss 'em in together. This means that Final Fantasy X, God of War II, Gran Turismo 4, Tekken 5, and Ratchet and Clank: Up Your Arsenal are gonna duke it out for the ultimate prize! Good luck to all the contestants!

Hehe still they're both great games!
Haha Ben love your lines "It may have been obscenely difficult to nab Gold medals in those License tests, but this Gold was a breeze."
So true I could only ever get a handful of the gold medals in the GT games, I mean never really bothered to shoot for gold, though in GT2 I did aim to get some golds, got a quite a bit of them.
Anyway Polyphony's racing genre domination is unstoppable, for more than 10 whole years Gran Turismo is still king...amazing.
Will never forget when I got GT1 back in the Summer of 1998...
Anyway no MGS3 on the list makes me sad... :(

My faourite PS2 game is still SoTC if I'm honest though-I played it through last wekk and it's still incredible for a game to be so affecting. Got me right in the mood for some news on the new Team Ico game but there's basically just that chain going down the hole! It's a great chain going down a hole but y'know I expected there to be a little more info by now!!

My 2 races last night were a key example in GT5P.
After tinkering with my TVR Tuscans suspension set-up i dropped a whole second off my 650PP Suzuka laptime down to 2:11.281 and was averaging 2:11s with no offs. This was down from my original starting laps a day ago or so of 2:14.xxx.
Nothing rewards you like GT when you put in the time, effort and skill. The racing being especially awesome.

So how many people usually vote in these polls?
