PSXE Poll Update: Final Fantasy VII Is Indeed Legendary

Okay, we could've predicted who the winner would be, but hey, it only proves that Final Fantasy VII's impact on the gaming world was not only profound, but also lasting.

Our readers have selected FFVII as their favorite in the long-running and critically acclaimed role-playing franchise, which shouldn't come as any surprise. It hit the original PlayStation in 1997 like a ton of bricks and since then, it has gained a Godlike image amongst many gamers worldwide. Compared to the previous installment - Final Fantasy VI for the Super Nintendo - it was an amazing leap forward in terms of both visuals and gameplay, and the overall vision left tears in the eyes of the fans. There are millions upon millions of FF fans out there, but many will point towards FFVII as being the most memorable entry of the series. Cloud, Tifa, Aeris...we all know these names, and that includes those who have never played the game (and shame on you if you haven't). We also find it interesting that Final Fantasy X nailed down second place, and Final Fantasy Tactics and Final Fantasy IX tied.

So now we move on to the next "Favorite" poll, and it's relevant for the time: what's your favorite Resident Evil? We find it unlikely that this one will feature a runaway victor, unless a lot of old-schoolers weigh in with their expected pick of Resident Evil 2. Well, let's find out; get to voting!
