Guitar Hero: Van Halen Shreds US Shelves On December 22
Activision will start the music-based video game insanity on September 1 with Guitar Hero 5, continue forward with DJ Hero, and now, it has been revealed they will cap off the holiday season with Guitar Hero: Van Halen.
As reported by GameSpot, Activision has revealed that the next Guitar Hero spin-off will hit North American store shelves on December 22; it will be available for the PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, Wii, and PS2. We've already seen entire GH titles dedicated to other legendary rock bands, like Metallica and Aerosmith, so it stands to reason that Van Halen should be next on the list. For the record, the competition will soon be coming with The Beatles: Rock Band, in case you can't get enough of those plastic guitars. Guitar Hero: Van Halen will feature 25 tracks (plus 3 playable solos by shredding God Eddie Van Halen), plus 19 other bands, including Queens of the Stone Age, Queen, Weezer, The Offspring, Billy Idol, Judas Priest, The Clash, and more. Check out the previous link for the full track list - it's pretty damn bad-ass - and see if you'll be able to resist the rock goodness. However, we've just learned from Eurogamer that Van Halen won't hit European stores until next year; the game has a "TBD 2010" launch date.
So anyway, are you prepared to go for both Guitar Hero 5 and Guitar Hero: Van Halen this Christmas season? Here's an idea: buy one; put the other on the holiday wish list.
