Jobe Would "Love To Do A War Of The Monsters Remake"
Heeey, remember War of the Monsters on the PS2? It was a straight-up action game featuring certain legendary behemoths; it was somewhat flawed, but it represented a good chunk of mindless fun for a few hours.
Well, we tend to check Dylan Jobe's Twitter page from time to time, just because he has been responsible for some top-quality video games in the past. He was part of the Incognito team that made Warhawk and has since moved on to form his own studio, Lightbox Entertainment, and they're rumored to be working on a sequel to the latter title, called Starhawk. But according to one of his more recent Tweets, War of the Monsters was the first game he ever directed and produced and, quote on quote, he "would love to do a remake some day." Given the power of the current video game systems and Jobe's experience since, we'd like to think that a remake could be oodles of brain-stomping fun (I just trademarked that expression so don't you dare use it without permission). All we really need is a more polished exterior and a game that anyone can pick up play; in so doing, they'd leave a trail of destruction in their wake and end with a smile on their face. Really, it's all about the fun factor with a project like this, and we have no doubt that Jobe and Co. could deliver.
But in the meantime, we'd really like to locate information on that mystery Lightbox project. We all assume it's Starhawk but we'd love an official announcement and some baseline details...
