Gunnar Optiks Present Futuristic "Gamer Glasses"
Think you have all the gaming accessories you need? Maybe not. Maybe the technological advances in this new generation extend beyond familiarity.
We all know how important our eyes are when playing games, and for those of us who make a living in front of a video screen, it's important to take frequent breaks and insure your eyes aren't constantly being assaulted and, consequently, strained. But perhaps these will help if you're in a similar situation, or if you simply want a better gaming experience: these are gaming glasses from Gunnar Optiks, home of "Digital Performance Eyewear." You may have some reservations, but recently, ArsTechnica went hands-on (or eyes-on) with these glasses that feature various coatings, tints, shapes and space-age material. The makers claim these glasses have multiple purposes, including reducing glare, reducing eye strain, and "blocking out evaporative air currents." ...yeah, we're not even sure what that is. But anyway, the test run was mostly successful at Ars; they even spoke with an optometrist who says such glasses probably would work, and she even said they boast many of the same traits of the special glasses she sells at her practice. In short, these things really should help a great deal if you plan to embark on any lengthy gaming sessions.
Just bear in mind that these will run you at least $100, although depending on who you are, it may be worth the money. And where are those bozos who claim that women can't look hot in glasses...?
