Gran Turismo 3 gets a steering wheel.
Today at the Game Developers Conference Logitech and Sony both went on record and announced that the much sought after steering wheel the GT Force will in fact be released here in the states alongside of Gran Turismo 3's scheduled June release date. The wheel is a force feedback wheel, that is designed with Gran Turismo 1,2 and especially 3 in mind. From the looks of things this will be a pricey wheel, said to be $50-75, but this byatch will certainly be worth it. I'm oozing with anticipation.
"Polyphony Digital has developed a stunningly realistic racing game with Gran Turismo 3. The Logitech GT Force wheel adds to that realism, giving users an unprecedented gaming and driving experience," said Ted Hoff, vice president and general manager of Logitech's Interactive Entertainment Division. "It has been a pleasure to work closely with Polyphony Digital and Sony Computer Entertainment in developing the first-ever force feedback wheel for use with PlayStation 2."
"With the combination of Logitech's GT Force wheel and Gran Turismo's breathtaking graphics, sound and gameplay, the result is the most realistic driving experience ever found on a computer entertainment system," said Ami Blaire, director of product marketing, Sony Computer Entertainment America. "The high degree of precision in the steering, combined with the realistic feeling of tires gripping the track and the unique handling physics of each car, leads to the ultimate 'at home' driving experience."
