Shaun Palmer licensed snowboarding game on the way.
Activision let out a press release regarding the development of their Shaum Palmer licensed snowboarding game entitled Shaun Palmer's Pro Snowboarder. Snowboarding veteran developer studio UEP Systems will be handling the project all the way up to its release date. For those who don't know, UEP was the original developer of the Cool Boarders franchise until 989 came along and turned the franchise into something that it shouldn't have been. They also created a snowboarding game for the Dreamcast, the name of the game escapes me though. So it seems as if UEP does have a lot of credentials, and Activision has certainly made the right choice. Here's what Activision had to say:
"In combining top studio and athletic talent, it is our intent to create the definitive snowboarding game for the PlayStation 2 computer entertainment system," said Larry Goldberg, executive vice president, Activision Worldwide Studios. "The experience UEP Systems brings to the genre is unmatched and will certainly lend itself well to developing the most exhilarating and realistic snowboarding game to date."
Shaun Palmer is a winner of six X-Games Gold Medals, a five time winner of the International Snowboarding Federation's World Boardercross, and even won competitions for extreme skiing, mountain bike racing, and motorcross events. Now that's something to be proud of.
