PS2 web browser goes live.

PlanetWeb and Koei's wholly owned subsidiary Ergosoft have launched their PS2 web-browser in Japan. The EGBROWSER will allow PS2 owners to download web content using their PS2s, check their e-mail via PS2 and even chat. The EGBROWSER supports USB mouse and keyboard so that your PS2 internet journey is more comfortable. In order to use the web-browser you will need a USB modem such as the Sun Denshi OnlineStation. Now since the modem will block a USB port, I suggest that you use the analog stick on the PS2 Dual Shock to operate as a mouse, and inserting a USB keyboard into the other port.

"Planetweb is excited to provide an Internet solution for the PlayStation 2 in Japan," Ken Soohoo, president and CEO of Planetweb, said. "The Planetweb browser and libraries will play a pivotal role in expanding the PlayStation 2 experience into the online world."

There are no plans in bringing this browser on the US PS2, but rest assured that US developers are working on one.

They're mostly fine, but not awesome
Eh, nothing's really doing it for me this month
No. They're bad. Very bad. Sony should be ashamed
