TimeSplitters 2 announced.
Today, Eidos revealed and announced the sequel to the widely known first person shooter TimeSplitters. TimeSplitters 2 will of course be released on the Playstation 2 and we've been able to find the first screenshots of the game. Eidos' United Kindom studios made the announcement, and have also confirmed that ex-Rare members Free Radical Design are developing the game. According to the press release, the game engine will be modified for better performance both visually as well as gameplay.
Mike McGarvey, CEO of Eidos says: "Free Radical Design demonstrated with TimeSplitters that they are one of the world's leading development teams. To say we are excited about TimeSplitters 2 would be a massive understatement."
David Doak, Managing Director of Free Radical Design says: "With TimeSplitters we were just finding our feet, now we can go to town and show people what we're really capable of doing - TimeSplitters 2 will be an exceptional game."
No set release date has been given for the US or UK release of TimeSplitters 2, my prediction is August 2001. But for now check out these great screens of the game in action.
