Sony's Dark Cloud ships to stores.
Today Sony shipped its first of the many, many anticipated games. Dark Cloud was in development for nearly two years and ever since the PS2's revelation in '99, gamers have been aching to get their hands on Dark Cloud, as well as a slew of other promising titles. The GEORAMA feature lets gamers edit their world all in real-time without any loading sequences in between. Dark Cloud participants will explore vast dungeons and caves, battling their way via a real time combat system that is reminiscent of Vagrant Story and Zelda. Characters will be able to play as eight different characters throughout the whole DVD spanned adventure, Toan being the lead character of the bunch.
"Dark Cloud is an incredibly compelling narrative, realistically brought to life by the technological capabilities of PlayStation 2," said Ami Blaire, director, product marketing, Sony Computer Entertainment America Inc. "With its beautifully-rendered graphics, imaginative characters, strategic gameplay, real-time interactivity and powerful storyline, this creative new offering will surely fulfill the appetites of gamers looking for something refreshing and original."
Expect a Dark Cloud review very shortly. The game will be available in stores tomorrow.
