Tecmo brings Gallop to the PS2.
Gallop Racer was released on the PSOne a while ago and not exactly to great reviews, but Tecmo isn't afraid to bring the series over to the most powerful console of the next-generation, the PS2. Gallop Racer has just been announced by Tecmo Inc., Gallop Racer 5 (as it is known in Japan) will be released on the PS2 in the form of Gallop Racer 2001. In essence this is the Gran Turismo of horse-racing, as gamers get involved in a world of breeding, training, betting and most importantly racing.
"Gallop Racer 2001 is the most realistic horse racing title ever made," said John Inada, marketing director at Tecmo. "In addition to authentic weather conditions, such as rain, snow, and mud, Gallop Racer 2001 features more than 1,500 lifelike horses, each made up of more than 40,000 polygons. After taking just one look at this game, gamers will be sprinting neck and neck down the stretch to secure their preorder for Gallop Racer 2001.''
WOW! 40,000 polygons per horse is amazing, I thought Gran Turismo 3's 20,000 per car was impressive! Gallop Racer 2001 will be released on the 21st of August.
