MGS2 receives November release date.
It has been announced today that Konami will be releasing Metal Gear Solid 2: Sons of Liberty for the North American PS2 November 14, 2001. It has also been confirmed that the Japanese release will occur one month later in December, which seems to be an odd twist in Konamiís scheduling scheme. According to the company, the reason for the earlier release date is to be in sequence with the holiday shopping season, beginning Thanksgiving Day. The game had originally been scheduled to have a simultaneous unveiling, but it appears Konami has made an intelligent move pushing the release date forward.
With the first Metal Gear Solid game selling more than 6 million copies, it is apparent that the sequel may be an even larger hit. Dating back to September of 1998, MGS has been dubbed one of the best video games of all time. As gamers, it is an absolute delight to hear of Konamiís new plans of dishing out MGS2 early to the North American audience.
