Final Fantasy X huge seller in Japan.
Reported by head representatives at Squaresoft, 2.14 million copies of Final Fantasy X have been shipped to the Japanese market yesterday. This launch day success has shown America the sheer power of Final Fantasy once again, and the ability of Square to appeal to the gaming community. Out of the 2.14 million shipped, 1.4 to 1.5 million of those units was already pre-ordered, and apparently just the expected beginning of Squares hopes for FFX. President Hisashi Suzuki reported that he hopes to achieve sales in the upwards of 3-4 million just in Japan, and anticipates similar success between the United States and Europe. The sales already achieved in Japan have come with no surprise, and should foreshadow the brilliance Square is preparing to give America.
