Namco's/Hori's AC4 Joystick
Namco made it happen with their GunCon peripheral way back in 1997 with the original release of Time Crisis. The gun came bundled with the game for an extra ten dollars, and the deal was well worth it. Despite being a short-lived title, Time Crisis was still an excellent adventure to come back to, and practice on those GunCon skills. Now, Namco has set to repeat what its done four years ago. They -and Hori- will be releasing a new flight joystick (as you can see by the image to the side) for the PS2 which will be compatible with Ace Combat 4, and possibly future flight titles such as Top Gun.
This joy' will feature a throttle shifter -left of stick-, what seems to be four buttons, then of course the stick itself with a fire button and another button to the side. An extra note, you will be allowed to adjust the sensitivity of the analog joystick using a certain method. The stick has been announced for Japan, so far. I'm optimistic of a domestic release of this product, and you should be too. The joystick is plainly titled 'Flight Stick', it will use the USB method of plug 'n' play, and will retail for 5,800 yen ($54). We'll keep you up to date with all of the happenings.
