Climax developer for Race of Champions
Activision has announced the signing agreement with Climax to develop its upcoming project, Race of Champions. The game centers around one-on-one rally racing based on the Michelin Race of Champions held annually in the Canary Islands. Activision expects to release the game for both the PS2 and Xbox in 2002.

"Their development expertise coupled with their proprietary DYNE Motorsports technology's powerful simulation capabilities, will enable us to achieve ultra realistic motion and collision responses on a variety of vehicles. Climax aims to make Race of Champion the most cutting-edge game in the driving genre and given their track record, we fully expect them to succeed."

Included in the game is an assortment of cars and drivers, adding to the 12 3D levels that replicate the official Race of Champions tracks. The licensed cars are as followed: Mitsubishi, Toyota, Ford, Lancia, Peugeot, Audi, Porsche, Citroen and Seat, with such driving legends as Didier Auriol from France, Armin Schwartz from Germany, and Tomi Makkinen from Sweden. Expect a true to the series simulation, as it appears Race of Champions has gone to great lengths to achieve a successful title.
