Infogrames raises annual sales
Infrogrames has recently announced a significant 29% rise in annual sales, with fourth quarter sales exceeding 52%. The outlook of the company seems to be very positive, despite its dropping stock that began in June. However, with the company’s new perspective, the stock has begun rising as much as 4.67% at 1153 GMt.Although posting rising sales, CEO Bruno Bonnell said that he expects an operating loss of 50 to 60 million euros for the year. Infogrames’ CEO is still very upbeat, however, boasting future projects such as Stuntman, Splashdown, and Alone in the Dark 4 for PlayStation 2, and Civilization 3, Monopoly Tycoon for the PC, as well as others.Turnover ending June 30, 2001 rose 672.3 million euros from 521.6 million a year earlier, with fourth quarter sales rising 52% to 183 million euros.
"Infogrames confirms it has set a target for turnover of one billion euros for the 2001-2002 operation, that will be based on ongoing growth in the United States and in Europe as well as the development of its activities in Asia," the Infogrames statement said.
