FFX scheduled for January 2002
It was announced today by Square Electronic Arts that Final Fantasy X will be scheduling a release date for the North American PS2 January 2002. Originally, there was speculation regarding whether the first RPG of the Final Fantasy Series on the PS2 would see a January or February date. This news is a joyous one for fans of this heralded series.
Including an incredible story line and breakthrough graphics, FFX also reveals the first time the series will use voice acting for its normally silent characters. Actors James Arnold Taylor ('A Moment of Silence', 'Futurama', 'Team Atlantis') and Hedy Burress ('Valentine',' If These Walls Could Talk', 'First Monday', 'Boston Common', 'Gideon's Crossing') will provide the voices of lead characters Tidus and Yuna.
Being released July 19, 2001 in Japan, FFX sold roughly 1.93 million units of the 2.14 million units shipped. While absolutely exploding in Japan, Square hopes to see similar numbers regarding the release of its RPG in the US. Stay tuned as we bring you every detail concerning this highly anticipated title.
