MGS2 release date on schedule
It has been announced today that Konami will be keeping the North American release date of Metal Gear Solid: Sons of Liberty on schedule for the PS2. Following the terrorist attacks on the World Trade Center, attention had been drawn to the game concerning whether or not it may be delayed or even cancelled.
According to a press release, "Initially, Metal Gear Solid 2 would have included a scene showing the World Trade Center building. But due to the recent terrorist incident, we have decided to remove that particular scene. The theme of the game focuses on the establishment of peace. Therefore, there will be no change in the plot of the game."
Also mentioned by store retailers, Japan is pondering the idea of moving the release date for MGS2 up two weeks to November 29, contrasting with its original date of December 13. However, Konami has given no official word, as the press release merely stated that the game would be "on schedule as originally planned."
