Final Fantasy XI details
As PSX Extreme has previously reported on Final Fantasy XI and the slight details that go with it, we have been presented new information on Square’s Online RPG. As we already know, the game will take place in the world of Vana Dir, where the presence of swords, sorcery, and technology appear. FFXI recalls the battle between human and monsters 20 years ago. The land on Vana Dir has been peaceful since this battle; however, there is now an evil presence that is threatening the world and the people living in it.
FFXI allows the selection of characters based on race, sex, and job of their character. With the human race known as the “hume”, gamers will also be able to choose from nonhuman races. No exact details have been given whether the job system will follow the same format as previous Final Fantasy titles, however.
FFXI is currently being developed on the PC and PS2. With the PS2 version at 65% complete, FFXI is scheduled to enter beta testing sometime this winter in Japan. The game will be released in North America, however, no exact date has yet been given. Stay tuned to PSX Extreme for further word.
