Acclaim makes inlinke skater official
Nothing makes me happier these days, except for when I hear that an all new inline skater is in development for the PS2. Just about a month ago, UK based Rage Software announced Rollin' for the PS2. Various screenshots were revealed and I was floored! Now, Acclaim has just announced their inline skater, Chris Edwards Aggressive Inline. The game will be developed by none other than Z-Axis, who's had prior experience with extreme sports titles. They've been responsible for Thrasher: Skate and Destroy and the Dave Mirra series. The game will be the first ever inline skater released across all of the next-generation consoles, when it arrives Summer 2002.
"We are thrilled to expand upon the breadth of our diverse product offerings from the Acclaim Max Sports brand and once again work with Z-Axis to deliver another benchmark title in the genre,” said Steve Felsen, senior brand director for Acclaim. "With nearly 30 million inline skaters in the United States and more than $250 million generated in revenues annually from equipment manufacturer’s sales, Chris Edwards Aggressive Inline is a perfect extension of our extreme sports portfolio."
It's pretty obvious as to what to expect from this title: an all out trick-based extreme sports title. The game will star the founding father of aggressive inline skating, Chris Edwards, and feature Taig Kris, Jaren Grob, Shane Yost among other high profile skaters. The gamer will have to embark on accomplishing various goals through various 'living-breathing' cities that feature interactive traffic and pedestrians.
