Namco announces Smash Court for US

Namco made it official today, they will be bringing out a US version of their tennis title, Smash Court Tennis Pro Tournament. The game is expected to ship this coming Spring, and will feature actual athletes who represent the sport of tennis, including Andre Agassi, Pete Sampras, Patrick Rafter, Yevgeny Kafelnikov, Martina Hingis, Lindsay Davenport, Monica Seles, and oh yes...Anna Kournikova. As far as a manually controlled replay camera that looks up tennis skirts is concerned, Namco hasn't even mentioned anything about that so don't even bother of emailing us, you pervs! On a lighter note, gamers will be able to compete in 4 of the most presitgious tennis tournaments, including Wimbledon and the U.S. Open. In addition, gameplay modes such as Arcade, Pro Tournament, Challenge, Exhibition mode, Grand Slam and Time Attack mode, the replay value for single-player goodness, sure stacks up. Add to that 4-player multi-tap support, and you've got a winner in the works. Look for Smash Court come Spring time, presumably April or May.
