Fall 2001

Naughty Dog without a doubt packs some of the most creative squad of developers on the videogaming forefront. Rivaling the geniuses at Rare to every single extent. Naughty Dog started out small, two 16 year olds by the name, Jason Rubin and Andy Gavin. First came a weird Apple skiing game, then afterwards came a 3DO game called 'Way of the Warrior'. Later on Naughty Dog was signed by Sony to develop games for their console under Sony's publication. Here is where the Crash Bandicoot franchise spurted and the rest is history. Today, Naughty Dog is now a wholly owned subsidiary of Sony, as they were bought out by the console maker, and remains to be one of the most lucrative development teams in the industry. They've come a long way, as they have recently lifted the cloth off their secret "Project Y" title, and it became official that "Project Y" is Jak and Daxter: The Precursor Legacy. E3 came and went, as Jak and Daxter was revealed throughout a dozen or so screenshots and a variety of movies.

Screenshots do not justify the visual spectra of Jak and Daxter, to sum up the graphics in a sentence I would have to say that: Jak and Daxter's world is like the perfect tropical juice, it's filled with vibrant colors and tastes sweet. Of course you can't taste color, but your eye certainly can -metaphorically speaking of course-. This game shimmers from some of the best landscape and background detail, it truly is a breathtaking feat to behold and witness. The land mass of Jak and Daxter's world is huge, the draw-in distance is almost bemused. On top of all the hardware pushing visual galore comes some of the finest character detail to be seen in any videogame on any console. In fact the only game that comes to mind in terms of vast environments and bold visuals is Square's Final Fantasy X masterpiece. For the time being enjoy these screenshots of Jak and Daxter, I'll try to squeeze some more out of Sony.

Jak and Daxter are best friends, Jak is the yellow haired fella' and Daxter is his monkey-esque friend that sits on his shoulder like a pirate's parrot. Jak and Daxter isn't you typical 3D adventure title, this game will make you think, it'll make you laugh and will certainly keep you entertaining for dozens of hours. Throughout Jak and Daxter you will come across puzzles and various other obstacles that need solving, just like any standard platform title you'll get a reward and progress on your adventure. The control of Jak and Daxter is extremely superb, it certainly makes you feel more involved within the whole game. As Jak, you are allowed to roam the immerse island, climb scale trees, fight of enemies and look good while you're at it. I wish I had some more info on Jak and Daxter, but for the time being this is all I know. Enjoy the current screenshots, and begin waiting for Fall 2001... only about 160+ days left for Fall *sigh*...
