Here's a riddle for you. What do you get when you mix the worlds of Square with the wacky characters of Disney? An RPG called Kingdom Hearts. Hearts has been in development for roughly two years now and still has a while to go before it's finished.

Chillin'

As the story begins, you control a character named Sora. Donald Duck and Goofy will also be alongside you in hopes to rescue your friends, Kairi and Riku. Besides the Goof and the Duck, there will be acclaimed appearances from many other well known Disney characters. There's also a newly created band of villains called the Heartless. These enemies can steal the souls of others and then transform into their shape. However, Goofy and Donald can also mimic the shapes of others to help them proceed throughout the levels.

Shiva, Ifrit, Bahamut...Dumbo?

Speaking of levels, they are all Disney based. So you will recognize the settings as soon as you start them with themes including: Aladdin, Pinocchio, and Tarzan. Kingdom Hearts is set to hit stores sometime in Fall of 2002. We're sure a lot more information will be given to us prior to the release of Kingdom Hearts. But in the meantime, enjoy these screenshots.
