The FPS genre has been pretty robust on the PS2 -- not robust with great games, but robust nonetheless. Besides all the big FPSs coming out later this year, such as Red Faction 2 and TimeSplitters 2, Eidos is delivering its own first-person shooter, which will utilize stealthy play, and it looks quite promising thus far.

First-person shooters have players take on a number of different roles, acting as a WWII soldier, a miner, a spy, a futuristic soldier, and more. Hitman 2, the sequel to the PC's Hitman, puts players in the shoes of an ex-hitman. Hoping to recover his past and true identity, he gets out of the limelight of a hitman. But as the story carries out, your character is tricked into re-entering the career in which he once escaped. The Russian kingpin that you strangely started working for is a money hungry criminal. What's next?

Hitman's level span to international distances, with stages taking place in Sicily, Japan, India, St. Petersburg, and Malaysia. There are also multiple play styles, but unfortunately, there will be no multiplayer options to better explore the levels.

Hitmen have all the eye-candy when it comes to weaponry, and Eidos knows this all too well. Your hitman will find himself in some pretty sticky situations, but he's got a multitude of weapons at his disposal, consisting of knives, handguns, assault rifles, sniper rifles, and even grenades. Although your hitman is no spy, he also has a nice little batch of gadgets to aid his strenuous missions, as well. Such gadgets found in the game are remote cameras, lock picks, laser pointers, and even night vision goggles.

One of Eidos' main goals is to improve on all the different aspects from the first game. Hopefully, that goal will be achieved. We hope to have more for you, folks, so stick around.
