Following up to Kessen, Koei is releasing yet another PlayStation 2 title. This time being a "beat 'em up" game. Your mission in the game is to not get overpowered by the opposing army. The game is army based combat, only you get to control one person. There is a real time war going on in every direction, but you fight by yourself taking out legions of enemies on horse and foot. This is total objective based combat. The fun of the game is how many enemies come at you at once, killing them increases the "body count" amount, which can go over 1000! Killing a thousand people is not something regular you get to do in videogames.

You can choose between nine different characters. They all have three traits varying on levels: health, attack and defense. Characters have different weapons suchs as: axes, maces, daggers and short swords. In all of the levels, you move from "hot spots", hot spots are places where all the battles occur, you can move from one to another. You may get a message on the screen to go help out your people at another spot. The game's graphics are extremely nice and do not slow down, which is surprising consider so many things happen on one screen.

Dynasty Warriors 2 is looking to be a PS2 title to not to expect unless you like these kind of games. It's kind of pointless in terms of gameplay, while slashing through hundreds of enemies may be fun for some, but not for all. If you're going to get a game from Koei, get Kessen. This title doesn't look like anything to buy or look forward to. Get Kessen, you'll be much better off with it.
