Hitting the shelves in November of 2003, the much-anticipated Karaoke Revolution for Playstation 2 will finally be available to get your anxious little hands on. Dance Dance Revolution, you think? Not by a long shot.

Konami of America's Karaoke Revolution expands on the widely embraced Dance Dance Revolution, almost literally turning your living room into a live concert arena. Developed by Massachusetts based Harmonix, who brought us those addictive, psychedelic titles like Amplitude and Frequency, Karaoke Revolution will feature a plethora of unique gaming options and remarkable graphics. There are three different modes to choose from: Showtime Mode, Arcade Mode, and Karaoke Mode, as well as a superbly helpful training tool to teach you the basics. Showtime Mode is Karaoke Revolution in all its glory, as you start at the bottom as an amateur lounge/club singer. With much persistence, patience, and practice, you work your way up the chain and eventually you've become what you've worked so hard to be: the next Britney (or Justin).

Aside from the different modes the game has to choose from, the technology is a huge part of what makes Karaoke Revolution so unique. One of a kind voice recognition technology actually judges your rhythm, accuracy and pitch to calculate your score. A real time in game crowd reacts to each note sung as appropriate with booing and cheering as necessary. The game also utilizes the Sony headset/microphone so you can move it and shake it all you want. And you thought that headset was just for Socom.

Visually, Karaoke Revolution has plenty to offer. The graphics are simply dazzling and dramatically draw you to the game with detailed characters, flashing lights, vibrant colors, and splendid backdrops. Each character looks different and has their own style - so chances are, you'll find one that best represents you.

Karaoke Revolution also boasts an extremely impressive collection of popular songs that touch on everything from classic karaoke hits to modern rock. Some genres to choose from are rock, dance, pop, r&b, 70s hits, 80s hits, 90s hits, and older favorites. To give you a general idea of what to expect, you've got chart-topping hits from Michael Jackson such as "Billie Jean" and "Smooth Criminal." Michelle Branch is also another featured artist, as well as REM, Madonna, Nickelback, Norah Jones, Eagle Eye Cherry, and countless more. Not only is it the ultimate party game, you'll enjoy the music that you would sing to anyway. And if you don't know the words, don't worry; they'll be scrolling at the bottom of the screen.

Overall, Konami of America's Karaoke Revolution is in a class of its own. It is the first interactive karaoke game of its type available to the United States and promises hours upon hours of enjoyment for people of all ages at any level of musical ability. Your PS2 is literally transformed into a crowd gathering karaoke machine unlike anything previously offered. Keep on the lookout for this one, as it is sure to be a one of a kind experience. Karaoke Revolution is rated E and will be available for the Playstation 2 this November.
