Mass Effect 3 Demo Set For January
Mass Effect 3 will launch on March 6, 2012 and role-playing fans everywhere already have their calendars marked.
But if you want an early taste, you'll be happy to know that developer Bioware has confirmed that an early demo will be available in January.
The best part is that this demo will boast both single-player and multiplayer sections (more games should do that!), and it'll hit all regions where the game is being released. Furthermore, they announced that anyone who buys Battlefield 3 on any platform will automatically get into the multiplayer part of the Mass Effect 3 demo. Just one caveat: you have to activate the Online Pass for BF3. As for the exact date of the ME3 demo, that'll be coming soon; we should receive that info later next month.
The post in BioWare's forums also hints that gamers will have another opportunity to gain early access to the play sample in January. You know, I have to admit, I love demos. It's one of the few new features this generation I just can't do without now.

*** POSSIBLE SPOILER ***
The one thing I didn't like was that I spent more Time recruiting than advancing the main story, as soon as I recruited, the game was over. I wish there was more Playing a main story than recruiting. The game seemed short, although it took me 30 hours, maybe making it a little longer I wouldn't have that complaint. But I really like recruiting in video games, so I can get over it.

And yeah, I too wished the game were longer, despite the length it already had. Guess that goes to show its story qualities!
But I spent way, way more than 30 hours! At least twice the amount.
So who were your favourite characters?:-)

My favorite character was my own. Haha. I was heavlily paragon, and the way I interacted with people was great, and the responses I got were good.
But I'd say Garrus, Miranda, the geth, and tali were my fav. I liked the thief (forget her name), and the assassins stories but didn't run with them much.
My least favorite character was Jack. I actually didn't have enough Paragon and her and Miranda got into it and I had to choose sides at that point. I ddnt choose Jack lol so it made matters worse for me and her. ;)

Damn what a ride ME was. Just discussing it afterwards like this makes me all excited again. I'm so ready for ME3 it hurts.

All I want to know is how long it is and if it fits into the rest of the game, that it doesn't feel "detached" from the rest of the universe. If it qualifies so far it's a must buy.

But it is short, maybe took me 2 hours. And you go in alone, no squad. It's good, but maybe not worth $6.99, because of the length.

Would be nice with a demo of Skyrim, though. Just to see if that game has more potential to pull me in than Oblivion did. If Skyrim receive anything less than 90% I will be very unsure about that particular title.

It was full stop. I tried and tried and tried, at least three times all over, started by putting some real efforts into creating the character (that usually gives me a good start into the game world) but as soon as I was out of those sewers the ball dropped dead. I travelled, spoke to people, did quests, but I never got into the game at all.
Strangest thing is that I can't really pinpoint why. I *love* open world anything, and in particular rpgs. Admittedly I belong to the sci-fi side of things, but that never stopped me from fully enjoy the Dragon Age games (yeah I enjoyed both of them). But maybe Oblivion was more "hardcore" fantasy setting, and that's what made me lose focus. After all, the BioWare rpgs are more about personal lifestories and relationships with other living beings more than actual fantasy age and time.
So, if Skyrim is anything like Obivion in that sense it just doesn't warrant a full price purchase. I must get it if it scores 80+, it is a rpg after all, but unless it's 90+ this particular title will have to wait for the first price drop.

Sign me up!!
Anyone know if Uncharted 3 will get a demo? With less than two weeks til launch, I doubt it now.
LOL! 360 fans and Xbots have become incredibly quiet lately with Mass Effect going multiplat, Gears 3 and Forza 4 being released and nothing new on the horizon except Kinect games. Poor Xbox. :P
