Sonic Generations Includes Original Sonic The Hedgehog
Although he has fallen on hard times (okay, the hard times have endured for a while, but whatever), Sonic remains a video game icon.
And if you'd like to continue to support the blue streak, you'll want to grab Sonic Generations, which is set to arrive on November 1. If you do, you'll get a nice little bonus, provided you're willing to work for it.
According to information taken from a Sonic Generations panel during Paris Games week, Sonic Team's Takashi Iizuka confirmed that the original Sonic the Hedgehog will be available as an unlockable award. They also presented attendees with the game's level hub, which contains doors and levels filled with Sonic's buddies.
Generations includes both 2D and 3D gaming with your favorite supersonic mascot, and we're really hoping this package will be a worthwhile purchase. And although Uncharted 3: Drake's Deception comes out on the same day, we all need a little nostalgic healing every now and then. And even if the 3D sucks again, we'll at least be able to play Sonic the way it was meant to be played. Yeah, you heard me.

Still, pretty good incentive to beat the game or unlock everything. I got this and Uncharted 3 preordered.
Sonic and Mario both remind me of how games are meant to be fun, not harsh competition or headshots and extreme violence. After playing Mario galaxy 2 for the first time, I had the biggest smile on my face I hadn't had since the first time I played Mario 64, or GTA San Andreas.
Games are meant to be fun, so here's hoping Sonic Generations is fun and not annoying or broken like some other Sonic games of the past.

both demos have been really good.
adding the original to the mix only sweetens the deal.
only problem is, well, sorry but ill be too busy blasting through BF3 when this releases!
and once im done ACR and saints row 3.
why oh why do all the good games have to release within 3 weeks of each other?
i gotta find that piece of paper that says its illegal to release a big video game in the months between june and september.
gets too rushed having to finish all these games within a matter of a few days after picking them up.
hell i wanted to be finished arkham city by the time BF3 releases but theres no way in hell thats going to happen!

In my opinion, Ratchet & Clank killed off the platfromer, with guns! After that no other platfromer relied on simple platforming, they all had guns, just look at the difference between Jak & Daxter and Jak II, Jak II looks more like GTA than Jak & Daxter.
Is Sonic Generations purely levels this time? I don't want to have to look around a poor exucse for a world that was in Unleashed. Just to extend the games lenght and escape the linear brush.

That mess is just way too embarrassing.
