Metal Gear Solid HD Collection Pushed Back For Europe
Update: We got a little confused with the press releases...maybe the small "UK" part should've been a trifle larger, or maybe we shouldn't have gotten it at all, being in the US. Whatever. The release date for this country is still November 8.
Original Story:
Well, at least it gives us more time to tackle the new AAA titles, right?
We're trying to be optimistic, because we have the disappointing news that the Metal Gear Solid HD Collection for the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 has been delayed; it was originally slated to launch on November 8, and it has now been pushed to February 3.
If you didn't already know, this assembly of revamped classics includes Metal Gear Solid 2: Sons of Liberty, Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater, and Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker. The original MGS isn't included because as Kojima said a while back, it quite simply would've taken too much time, as it's a much older PS1 game and the other titles are from the PS2 and PSP.
However, if you purchase the limited Ultimate HD Collection, you'll receive a code to download the first Metal Gear Solid from the PlayStation Network. And oh yes, Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots is also included in that package. Yeah, we have to wait until next year but we can be patient.
P.S. Any chance this one was delayed because they didn't want to release it on the same day as Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3?

On a side note: The Ultimate Edition mentioned in this article is from Zavvi (which i think is in Europe), the Limited Edition here in the US doesn't include MGS1 or MGS4, it includes a art book.

Cheers for the clarification mate, i thought this just applied to Europe. No big deal as i was always going to import this anyway for cheaper, like i do with all of my games.
There is no alterations to the voice acting though is there? I heard a while back that they were re-recording the voice overs or was that just for specific console controls?

The point is I was really looking forward to going to the store (no pre-order this time) and looking at the clerk and saying "Call of What now? Oh no I'll take a copy of the MGS HD collection thank you."
If the limited edition isn't too much. I might go for that. I already have MGS4 so an unopened copy might come in handy 10+ years down the road.

i have to agree with snaaaakes idea but with a little change. he should've said most cod fans wont really care about the game, especially concerning the xbox community. it seems that they are perfectly content about only playing COD/gears/halo no matter what game releases. those are the only games most of them play. sure battlefield might sneak in a bit but its going to go back to COD/Gears/Halo.

Dev made the right move in my opinion. If they want to make a profit, it's best to delay it until the Modern Warfare 3 hype dies down a bit.
Edit: lmao this just gives more people fuel for their eternal hating fire for Modern Warfare 3.

it's a sad day when you have to consider the possibility that the mgs series is running away from mw3. my how times have changed...again this sucks. i was very much looking forward to playing peacewalker.
as for mgs1 remake. what about twin snakes? that was a mgs1 remake that was essentially brought up ps2 standards. why can't they use those assets to start with?

Time to move on, champ.
No need to deny yourself an ace collection over a delay which can easily be bypassed by importing the game overseas & for cheaper.
