Uncharted 3 DLC Will Be "Way Cooler" Than Uncharted 2's DLC
You know, Uncharted 3: Drake's Deception is almost perfect on its own. In fact, we say it's about as close to perfection as a video game can get right now.
But that doesn't mean it can't get even better. There's a fancy new feature in this generation for console games called "downloadable content," and you can definitely expect Naughty Dog to deliver some fantastic add-on stuff for their latest masterpiece.
In speaking in the latest episode of GameTrailers' Bonus Round, Uncharted 3 game director Justin Richmond says the fans will be happy with that DLC:
"We have some really cool stuff for DLC this time, even way cooler than what we had for Uncharted 2...there's one piece of content in particular that I think fans are going to go ballistic for."
We still don't know exactly what to expect, but we know it'll be multiplayer-oriented. Recently, Naughty Dog said they couldn't embrace the idea of single-player DLC because all their ideas were just too huge for add-on content, and besides, they didn't want to gimp the amazing cinematic experience. And we really appreciate that. Finished Richmond:
"Because we did so well with multiplayer last time, we kept saying we have to have a plan from the beginning...so we have that this time. There's a ton of DLC content that's coming."
Any ideas on what we'll get?

With that said, this time around I'd like to see some more co-op DLC. I played a lot of co-op with my friends and that was something we wished there would have been more of. It was a lot of fun, for so long... They sound very energetic about this so that should make us all excited for it!
Can't wait til Tuesday! Sux I prolly won't get to playing til thursday though, the beginning of the weeks are just packed full of stuff to do.

ND has already said they wouldn't release single player DLC because they get too in depth with it and at that point it turns into a new game. That's why I say don't even bother with SP DLC then, for two reasons. One being that if they try and continue with the story - let's use U3 as an example - then the retail release feels unfinished and that's not good. I and I'm sure many others would rather have closure at the end of these games, that's why I play them to see where the story takes me.. Two if they try to create little Uncharted short stories (not relevent to the retail versions) of DLC then it could become native and feel like it's not part of Uncharted. Why make a decent 2 hour piece of DLC when you can add 6-8 more hours too it and create another great GAME?!?!
Creating SP DLC to me would ruin the whole reason I play these games which is for the SP, and story. I'd rather know I'm playing their vision in what is a complete full experience with no reason to add to it.

I agree with that. They have a beginning and an end. No need to add something to the story like that. That's one thing I know most people disliked about Alan Wake. The game was not finished so they could finish it up with SP DLC which I thought was a big no-no for me.
I do enjoy MP on U2. That's the most fun I've had on MP in awhile. I mute the rude folks so it doesn't bother me at all.

But single player DLC does have it's place. Borderlands, AC, inFamous are all great examples of scenarios it works. Notice how those games are open world, and objective based. Not linear and story driven.
