Skyrim Collector's Edition Is Pricey, But There's A Dragon
Okay, so $150 might seem a bit steep. But hey, there's no Prestige Edition for this year's Call of Duty so something had to step up and take the crown for the most expensive Collector's Edition of 2011.
And that something is Bethesda's The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim, which is slated to launch on November 11. You can see it right here; for all you hardcore role-playing fans, this might be a must-have.
It's a huge box that features a 200-page soft-feel art book (yes, 200 pages), a cloth map of Skyrim, a making-of DVD, and the main attraction: a 12" plastic dragon that is exquisitely detailed and appropriately fearsome. It's great for any gamer's collection, although it probably wouldn't work as a central piece on your coffee table...unless your guests are all like you.
Now, we don't know if you're willing to pay $150 for this very nice set, but you gotta spring for at least one Collector's Edition this holiday season, right? For the record, we've been playing Skyrim and most of you know my history with this franchise, as confusing as it has been. ...I'm happy. ;)

I know I'm gonna love this game. Just seeing the evolution of the different races was amazing. They look so much better in skyrim, although I've only seen screen shots of what the look like in skyrim.
Can't wait to nab this game, although it'll be awhile. But it'll be worth the wait I'm sure.

not that crap that $ony sells you, says its a limited edition and theres thousands of them sitting in stores waiting to be sold!
high quality too not like the cheap chineese 2 dollar plastic the hig helmet from the hig edition was.
still i have to say by far the best LE i have ever purchased was the crysis 2 nanosuit edition.
yea it was 200 AUD but it came with EVERYTHING!
it was super rare only 100 released here in AU.
it came with the highest quality statue i have ever seen!
lights in the nano suit that light up, the taxis headlights also light up.
the art book was a propper massive 17inch art book not the crappy 3inch art book most places give you.
the steelbook was actually only for the nano edition, most editions have the same game case as the standard or limited but this was separate.
even the game disk was separate, again look at uncharted 3.
the special edition and explorer edition have the same disk as the standard edition gets.
thats what i loved about the nanosuit edition.
it was super rare again only 100 sold here, and everything was made specially for it none of the standard edition crap in there!
and everything felt really high quality, 99% of the time i open a special edition and feel the quality and number of items is worth far less then the asking price.
this is the only edition i thought was actually worth a hell of allot more then they charged us!
i mean put this up against the ridiculous 300 bucks $ony wanted for the GT5 sig edition (which i just picked up for 80 bucks today brand new! STEAL!) the nano edition is easily worth at least 100 more then that, yet EA charged 100 LESS for it!
and it was super rare, not like the sig edition which is was so mass produced you can go to any game shop here, almost a year after release and pick it up for half of what it released at!

I think this is a two high for a collectors edition unless that dragon is hand painted sculpture no thank you. I'll get just the game. The last collectors edition i bought was Epic mickey and it was only 10 dollars more than the game I thought what i received out of it was a good deal. Oh can't forget LBP 2 I did that too but I love the book ends and the little sack boy.
