Is Techland Already Working On A Dead Island Sequel?
Dead Island had shipped over 2 million copies last we checked, and that's usually good enough to warrant a sequel.
But could developer Techland be working on a follow-up effort already? Or is this something entirely different and unexpected? According to Siliconera, the Poland-based design studio has patented a trademark for "Dead World" in the US.
Dead Island was - obviously - set on an island but it seems the zombie outbreak may spread across the ocean. Then again, we really don't know what this trademark is for; it could even be for a film adaptation. Or maybe Techland is jumping into digital creation and are planning to bring the sequel or a spin-off to the PlayStation Network and Xbox Live Arcade.
For our part, we thought Dead Island was a decent game with a high fun factor. There were a few issues with the gameplay but nothing that couldn't be fixed in a sequel. The question is, would you buy that sequel...?

i lost interest in dead island only because every mission is a repeat of the last.
if i hear someone tell me to go back and grab x numbers of a item im going to scream!
theres no progressive feel to the game, you feel like your just sitting still not progressing just sitting there doing the same thing hour after hour after hour!
every mission is so f*cking repetitive and what hurts it the most every mission feels like a side mission.
the game feels like it has no purpose, no campaign just tedious side missions that really spoiled it for me.
get rid of that and it could and should of been a fantastic game!
its still fantastically gory though!
for some reason theres no game more satisfying then this when it comes to dismembering limbs.
dunno why just the detail maybe makes this my favourite game to get some swords swinging!
