Heavy Rain: Director's Cut: The Definitive Package

If you haven't played it yet, now's the time.

Yeah, the biggest game in the world comes out on November 8, but something else - something more innovative and cerebral - comes out that same day: the very special Heavy Rain: Director's Cut.

This new package features the award-winning game, the original soundtrack, bonus behind-the-scenes videos, and lots of DLC, all for the fantastic price of $29.99. Here are the exact details of the Director's Cut:

  • Complete, original game, Heavy Rain
  • Heavy Rain Chronicles: Episode 1 – The Taxidermist DLC
  • Heavy Rain Original Videogame Score by award-winning film and television composer, Normand Corbeil (16 tracks)
  • New front-end menu and interface with built-in Move support
  • A series of 8 “Making of” Bonus Videos
  • Three Dynamic Themes (Heavy Rain, Heavy Rain ARI Forest, Heavy Rain ARI Mars)
  • 15 additional pieces of new concept art
  • 2 bonus Trailers (Thank You Trailer, Love Trailer)

Lastly, as a big ol' thank you to the fans, SCEA will make the Heavy Rain Crime Scene Dynamic Theme available for free on the PlayStation Network; it'll be available to download on November 8 as well. Heavy Rain is one of the most incredible accomplishments in the industry's history, and remains the most memorable experience of the generation for me.

I'll be sure to pick this one up eventually, I adored the original game (3rd favorite game this gen) and I really want to see all the new features. Plus a few new themes never hurt.

I heard Europe was getting an edited version of the game, with the sex scenes and nudity cut out. Is this the same thing?

I'm assuming it's different since it says "original" version of the game.

Well, I've got the Collector's Edition of the game from launch, one of the dynamic themes and the Taxidermist Episode already. I've downloaded the Move support patch, and WOW does it make the game so much better and immersive!!!!

Twisted Metal off the top of my head...

edit/ The Last Guardian and Starhawk just came to mind as well, don't worry 2012 will be just fine.

Nice, and nice pricing too.

But it's still a shame that Cage didn't finish those other 3 DLC's & then simply added them into this mix too.

I was extremely pissed that they canned the other DLC after the taxidermist. Then I've already paid for the themes...Wish this Directors Cut had the cut DLC that was never released.

again!?
oh $ony when will you stop milking this!?
i wish they would announce QDs new game, and i really hope it has the same theme as heavy rain.
im really disappointed david refuses to do a sequel, we have so few stories based on serial killers and detectives its really got allot of potential to be a great story.
i would love to see a game based off v for vendetta.
one of the best movies ever created!

Well I got the original Special Edition in hope that they'd continue the Chronicles Episodes. But, alas they couldn't, What is worse though is how in stores yo ucan buy the episode of a PSN gift card, how can they continue to advertise it if they never even finished it.

As for this edition, theres nothing new which reallyreally interests me, however my flatmate said he wants to buy it, so I shall inform him of it at least.

DARN YOU BEN!!!!!!! When 1st reading the headline I thought the director's cut was gonna be the promised multiple DLC(stories) that was axed. I got overly excited and read the article and you delflated my hopes and dreams...lol. But hopefully this package for the price will entice people who didn't experience the original will experience it now! Have you heard anything about that stuido making another game based off the same concept or mechanics?
