Yakuza's Kazuma Kiryu Is Playable In Binary Domain
Don't bother about the logic and logistics of the situation. Kazuma Kiryu is a time traveler, okay? Just live with it.
Cameos are always fun, and Sega will be giving one of gaming's most intimidating bad-asses a chance to shoot robots. As detailed at Andriasang, Yakuza protagonist Kazuma Kiryu will appear in Sega's new futuristic shooter, Binary Domain. Kazuma will be a downloadable playable character for the game's multiplayer mode; he'll look normal when you play on the government side, but he gets all Rambo-esque when he's on the side of the Resistance. All you have to do is pick up the game when it first releases to grab Kazuma for free. However, for now, this appears to be a Japanese-only thing.
Personally, I want to see more cameos in more games. I want Kratos to pop up in Saints Row: The Third and just start ripping modern-day stuff apart. I want Snake to team up with Ezio for an optional mission and sneak around Constantinople in Assassin's Creed: Revelations. Just little stuff; nothing that turns the cameo into a plot focus or selling gimmick. And yes, I know the characters have to stick with the publishers that created them; I'm just having fun.
