Saints Row: The Third Strategy Guide: Beyond The Typical

With the Internet, strategy guides are a pretty tough sell these days.

But maybe you'll want one for Saints Row: The Third, which launches on Tuesday. Not only does the guide give you the expected information, it also boasts some downloadable content. There's some incentive!

According to GameStop's listing for the guide, you'll get an "exclusive Money Shot Pack," and don't forget about full walkthroughs for both the main and side missions, along with all the locations of every collectible. Here's what $25 will get you:

  • Contains the exclusive Money Shot Pack - Unlock the Ultor Assassin suit, Togo-13 sniper rifle, and the Ultor Interceptor jet-bike!
  • Complete everything - Walkthrough for all missions
  • Survival of the fittest - Take over all rival gang territory
  • Complete every Activity, Diversion, and acquire every collectible
  • Full list of all cheats for your cell phone
  • All accolades revealed - Attain every Achievement or Trophy
  • Studio Edition content - Get a behind-the-scenes tour with the talented Volition, Inc. team
  • One-of-a-kind Saints style cover

This is exactly what they need to get people excited about strategy guides again. You can't expect consumers to fork over $20 or $25 when there isn't anything in the guides you can't find online. And if you've forgotten, we definitely recommend the game in question.

I remember when strategy guides were like 10-15 bucks... now you have to fork over 25 for the standard and 30+ for the limited which has a shiny hardcover and stunning images...

This is a great incentive though! :D

I don't normally buy strategy guides. I think I own four total, with the last one I bought being Elder Scrolls Oblivion.

Only guides I have ever purchased were all Final Fantasy related but the extra content makes this interesting.

god i hate this exclusive BS!
and people say online passes are a shameless money grab!
no thanks, only guide im buying this year is the ACR guide.
those actually give you some useful information, the AC2 one for instance had a really in depth explanation on the symbols subject 17 wrote on the walls, and also his relation to desmond.
was a really interesting read!
