Harry Potter Fans: Revel In The 3D Experience Movie Pack

Harry Potter isn't done yet.

Sony has announced a new PlayStation 3 bundle to celebrate the recent release of "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows - Part 2" on Blu-Ray.

It's called the Harry Potter 3D Experience Movie Pack PS3 bundle, and it'll be available starting this week for the low price of $249.99. The package includes a 160GB PlayStation 3, a copy of the aforementioned movie on Blu-Ray disc (both 3D and standard versions), and a voucher to download "Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone" and "Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets." Last but not least is a 30-day free trial for PlayStation Plus.

I haven't really gotten into the whole 3D thing, but there are many people who love it. I think it depends on the movie and game in question; if it's something like "Avatar," I can understand the attraction...to some extent. As for games, I don't really need it, although it has proven to be pretty cool in the past.

I will always hate Harry Potter, even more than Twilight.

That's tough, but I'd have to take Harry Potter over Twilight lol.

No offense to both films, as they're very popular, but I'm not into them either.

More than twilight? ... really?

I suppose I have a particular disdain for the sparkly vampire saga as my wife just loves it. Which is strange, because for the most part she has pretty good taste.

I happen to like Harry Potter, particularly the books. I did enjoy the movies but the books are a lot better still. I think it's a travesty to compare HP to Twilight as I don't see any redeeming factor on that one. I saw the first movie with a friend just to kill time, but we almost ended up killing ourselves instead. LOL

3D sucks for me in the cinema because the glasses they use don't work if you already wear prescription glasses (contacts are OK). Not sure how well the Sony shutters fit over regular glasses either, it leaves me feeling pretty left out to be honest...

I'm not sure about Sony shutters specifically, but the shutter glasses I tried out at Best Buy, Fry's, and Costco worked pretty good for me. I wear one of those thick, black-framed glasses, and I was able to put them over no problem. I guess it depends on the model. I only wear contacts for sports, so if I'd have to watch 3D, I'd choose to wear my glasses.

I usually wear my contacts, but the at home glasses I have used at friends houses are uncomfortable anyway. You shouldn't feel left out, your brain basically forgets it's watching 3D after a few minutes anyway.

I hate having stuff on my head... cept hats I love hats. Can I get a 3D hat?

I've held off on the 3D because of the feedback (or lack there of) I've gotten from 3DTV owners like Ben. The general answer seems to be, if you have it, then cool, but if not, hold off, especially if you already have splurged on an HDTV.

Though, feedback on the Sony's PS3/PC 3DTV seems to be really positive, with the new SimulView tech being a real hit, described often as "magical".

This is awesome. Have a ps3 and 3dtv already so i'm just looking into getting the movie in 3d which has proven hard to find. Just can't seem to find the movie in 3d anywhere. I thought maybe they haven't relesed it yet. Man, hate potter more than twilight?!? Thats harsh... LOL. To each his own. But man thats harsh...Lmao.
